Fishing

New Zealand boasts some of the best fishing in the world and is renowned for its fly fishing.

The fish are plentiful and the quality is good with fish averaging 3-4lbs with some whoppers up in the 10+ lbs range.

The season is year round with differing locations producing better at different times of the year.

You can choose your destination by season or the technique that you prefer.

Because of the crystal clear water in a lot of locations there is a lot of fishing “sighted fishing” in rivers and streams.

The North Island has a lot of Rainbow Trout especially around Rotorua and Taupo/Turangi although there are enough Browns to tempt the avid angler.

These fish are in lakes and streams and require differing techniques.

The South Island is home to the large Browns and draws anglers from near and far.

Nelson , Canterbury , the West Coast and southern part of the South Island are all big producers and provides some stunning views.

The Nelson area is best known for the large Browns and the southern areas has more diverse waters and remote locations

You can choose the style that fits you with boat fishing , fly fishing , hike in , alpine or heli fishing in remote locations all available.

Each is unique and equally rewarding and we supply a local guide that can help you to find the fish and increase the odds of catching “the big one”.
